Bež boja se jednako tako može često okarakterizirati i kao dosadna boja koju je pri modnom stiliziranju potrebno nadopuniti s ponekim izraženim detaljem ili pak odjećom i cipelama življih farbi. Nijanse bež boje još se nazivaju i boja pijeska, boja slonovače, kremasta, oker, i boja deve. Smeđa je boja povjerenja, zemlje, drva, sigurnosti, stabilnosti i elegancije. Smeđa je neutralna boja koja se najčešće povezuje s jesenskom i zimskom odjećom i obućom. Često se koristi u kombinaciji sa zelenom kada se žele naglasiti prirodne, organske i ekološki osviještene modne kombinacije. Tamno smeđa boja često se koristi i umjesto crne i kao boja za unijeti toplinu u određenom fashion stylingu. Smeđa se povezuje i s plodnošću, poviješću i tradicijom.
